The Lakefront Blocks is a complicated two block development that includes four towers with ground floor retail, office space and residential. The office was developed specifically for high-tech tenant, Google. With many uses spread over city blocks in downtown Seattle, the project had many layers, and many contracts. Waypoint provided wayfinding, exterior and code signage for the residential (for Vulcan Real Estate), office shell and core wayfinding and code signage for the buildings that Google would occupy (for Vulcan Real Estate), exterior property ID and parking signage for the entire project (for Vulcan Real Estate), and tenant improvement signage for both Google and GLY Construction.

With all of these uses and entry points in mind, Waypoint developed a comprehensive signage program that supports the varied users while speaking to the brand of the development – a playful high-tech community on the water’s edge, influenced by views of Lake Union, seaplanes, sailboats and the mountains beyond. Schedule was of significant importance in this complex, large-scale development, and the Waypoint team worked tirelessly to coordinate with the many outside approvers and design influencers (and in some cases design providers) to ensure that the signage was delivered within the anticipated timeline.
