A residential tower speaks to the artistic past and bright future of a historic neighborhood
Waypoint was pleased to work with Security Properties on Heartline, a 218-unit residential tower that is a part of a two building development in Portland’s burgeoning Pearl District neighborhood. Speaking to the past and the future of the historic Pearl District, the development includes a 5-story brick commercial office building as well as the 15-story glass and steel residential tower. The residential building is inclusive of an arts program that embraces the artists (past and present) of this character neighborhood. Building signage in the residential tower is clean and vibrant, inclusive of artistic elements. The building includes two “levels” of unit IDs, adding some cache for homes on the upper floors of the tower. Lower level signage is fabricated of back-painted acrylic, a treatment that makes this thicker material feel lighter and brighter. As an upgrade, upper level unit IDs are fabricated of stainless steel. In addition, special attention was paid to amenity signs, allowing for a more crafted, artistic feel.
Anderson Construction was the general contractor for the development, and Mithun was the architect.
