Wayfinding signage package for Alta Art Tower.

Wayfinding signage including directional and unit IDs.

Back-of-house signage carries the simply elegant look and feel while saving budget dollars for unit IDs.

Classy unit IDs add to the theatrical, dramatic story of the tower. Unit IDs leverage a marble-look laminate over matte black acrylic with raised numbers and braille.

Wayfinding signage supports the elegant presentation of the story.

Theater and drama unfold in this Portland high-rise multifamily tower

Waypoint is delighted and appreciative to be a signage partner for Wood Partners. Alta Art Tower, a 314-unit, 21-story multifamily high-rise opened its doors to residents in February 2022. Located adjacent to the Artist Repertory Theater in Portland, Oregon’s Stadium District, the tower is inspired by the activity of its next door neighbor. Speaking directly to the atmosphere created by the theater, Alta Art Tower boasts a one-of-a-kind integrated live performance space on the ground floor as well as retail, restaurants and a courtyard that is shared between residents and theater-goers. The Wood Partners team truly leaned into the theater story, and commissioned a custom art piece that reflects the relationship of the new tower and the theater in an abstract Venn diagram. And the story isn’t limited to the ground floor. Throughout the building, theater and drama are embraced, including an extensive series of art installations. To complement this storied building, Waypoint provided a chic, elegant signage package that speaks to the artful nature and vibe of both the interior and the exterior of the tower. In addition to wayfinding and exterior signage, Waypoint designed, fabricated and installed a series of custom artist plaques that accompany the fantastic works within the building. Ankrom Moisan was the architect for Alta Art Tower and Anderson Construction was the General Contractor.
