New signage supports a large scale property renovation
Aimco engaged in a repositioning effort for this 110 unit, value-add asset in Redwood City, California, not far from Stanford University. The 70s apartment community received an extensive renovation, introducing a fun, retro, edgy spirit to the older development. While a new name was selected for the project originally, challenges arose, and the development team changed direction to utilize the address, 707 Leahy, as its name, after signage concepts had already been created. The Waypoint team pivoted, adjusting slightly but keeping the integrity of the design concept. The 707 Leahy project also had challenges with strong permitting requirements that changed through the course of the renovation. The Waypoint team stayed in close communication with the client, Aimco, and the city, adjusting as required and supporting an on-time Certificate of Occupancy. SB Architects was the architect for the renovation.
