A flock of unit IDs.

Unit IDs complement the PNW natural corridor design.

The unit ID pulls from brand elements leveraging the tree branch from the Rook logo.

Natural + urban signage design.

Back-of-house signage was kept simple to allow dollars to be spent in more high-touch areas.

While simple, the back-of-house signage is on brand.

Inside and out, Waypoint's signage stands the test of time.

Interiors that complement Tacoma's lumber industry are accented by clear and modern signage.

Back-of-house doesn't have to mean lack-of-design.

Birds of a feather flock together to create a PNW landmark in an Opportunity Zone

Named for the super social rook, a bird that nests in large chattering groups in the tops of tall trees, Rook Apartments landed in 2024 at the crest of a hill in Tacoma’s Brewery District. This Opportunity Zone multifamily project from One Trent Development includes 368-units and ground floor retail. Inspired by Tacoma’s historical timber industry as well as the local craft breweries that lie steps from the building, Rook offers residents exceptional views of the waters of Commencement Bay and the peaks of Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains.

Waypoint provided design, fabrication and installation services for the wayfinding (inclusive of code and ADA signage), as well as the exterior signage for the project. Waypoint’s design team worked with the Blanton Turner-established brand to create signage that speaks to the natural elements of the development while underscoring the upscale, urban vibe of the property. Exterior blade signage highlights the rook itself and creates a strong visual presence for the building.

Waypoint was delighted to continue our partnership with One Trent and to work with project architect, Studio 19 Architects and general contractor Rush Commercial. Blanton Turner is the property manager.
